Intensive care comprises the observation, support, monitoring and care of seriously-ill patients, as well as involvement in anaesthesia and kidney replacement therapy. The focus of intensive care is primarily on the care and/or intensive long-term care, as well as the mobilisation of seriously-ill people and patients with respiratory insufficiency. While doing so the intensive care personnel are also involved in reanimation- and shock therapy, bronchial hygiene and intubation as well as in anaesthesia and acute dialysis.
