The dementia research focus at the University of Applied Sciences for Health Professions Upper Austria is interdisciplinary in nature and combines nursing science, therapy science and analytical-diagnostic perspectives in order to comprehensively address the complex challenge of dementia.
Focus
The research focuses on the diagnosis, care and therapy of people with dementia. The University of Applied Sciences for Health Professions Upper Austria focuses, among other things, on the development and evaluation of innovative, needs-oriented care models and on the development and evaluation of nursing and therapeutic interventions for people with dementia. The focus is on person-centred approaches and interventions to strengthen social participation and self-determination. In addition, vocational and educational research in this area focuses on building skills and knowledge in the health professions.
Objective
The objective is to improve the care, support and participation of people with dementia and their relatives in the long term.
Through its research in the field of dementia, the University of Applied Sciences for Health Professions Upper Austria is helping to shed light on current and future challenges in dealing with dementia from various perspectives and to develop practical solutions for health and social care professions.
