Course details

During the care management higher education course, students gain the competencies needed for playing a leading role in basal and middle management. In addition to learning new nursing skills, students will build competence in leadership and management, social communication and scientific aspects of their future work.

These skills are taught during science and theory based sessions with hands-on experience gained at the FH health professionals Upper Austria GmbH campus and internships. Internships during the course give students the opportunity to apply and intensify the skills and knowledge gained under professional supervision.

The higher education course is split into modules, some of which can be offered on an interdisciplinary basis. The curriculum features a balanced content of thorough theoretical principles, medical science and practical experience. Graduates of the care management higher education course are in a position to take on the professional leadership of care providers within organisational units in health and social care facilities. They will have learned how to handle management tasks with agility and responsibility and act according to professional and ethical management principles.
