fun.tast.tisch. – development of an innovative training software for Microsoft® PixelSense™ in neuro-rehabilitation

The project’s aim was to develop a training software based on PixelSense technology that is suitable for patients with acquired brain injury. One of our special concerns was to motivate patients using a clear and attractive design (making it “fun”), the use of multi-touch and the integration of objects (“tast”, German for touch) as well as the possibility to use the table (“tisch”, German for table) from different angles. In total, we developed 14 modules for application in neuro-rehabilitation.

Term: 01.10.2012 — 30.09.2014

Fun.tast.tisch. was the first project of FHG OÖ financed by third party funds and ended in October 2014. LIFEtool led this research and development project. Further partners were softaware gmbh, occupational therapist Irene Schacherl-Hofer M.A., FH OÖ Forschungs- und Entwicklungs GmbH, Transparent Design Handelsgesellschaft m.b.H., and ARTGROUP ADVERTISING. The project was funded by BMVIT/BMWFJ – program “COIN cooperation and networks”. http://www.funtasttisch.at/

Faculty staff and students of the Bachelor Program Occupational Therapy supported the implementation of the project. This yielded 13 bachelor theses and several publications, see below.

  • Project team FHG OÖ: Dr Renate Ruckser-Scherb, MSc; Mag Sabine Dielacher; Mag Dr Sylvia Öhlinger
  • Partners: Lifetool (project lead), softaware gmbh, Irene Schacherl-Hofer, M.A. occupational therapist, FH OÖ Forschungs- und Entwicklungs GmbH, Transparent Design Handelsgesellschaft m.b.H., ARTGROUP ADVERTISING
