Data security information – virtual events

The University of Applied Sciences for Health Professions Upper Austria, Semmelweisstraße 34, 4020 Linz, is, in accordance with current data protection laws, responsible for the processing of data.

The University of Applied Sciences for Health Professions Upper Austria uses the Microsoft Teams application for the implementation of live events over the internet. This app is a product of Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, which is a certified processor of the University of Applied Sciences for Health Professions Upper Austria. Data – apart from technically necessary transfers to Microsoft Corporation for operating the application – will not be forwarded to third party recipients. (Microsoft is contractually bound to transfer technically necessary data for ongoing system maintenance to third countries in exceptional cases only. In such an event, standard contractual clauses for the data transfer will be provided, and technical safety measures, such as the encoding of data, will be implemented. Nevertheless, risks concerning the transfer of personal data to third countries which may be posed from the respective legal situation and which may not ensure an equal level of EU data protection, cannot be completely excluded.) In processing the data, the University of Applied Sciences for Health Professions Upper Austria refers to the consent of the participant in Article 6 Section 1 a in relation to Article 46 and Article 49 General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which allows the processing and transfer of data on the basis of the informed consent.

All persons who accept the public meeting invitation by clicking on ist invitation link will be able to join the live event which is a public virtual event. Thus, all participating persons will be able to see chat messages of other participants, if the moderator makes them public during the event. It is not necessary to reveal one’s full name upon joining the event. During the live chat questions can be asked. If required, questions can also be posed anonymously.

All data will be exclusively processed for the purpose of implementing the virtual live event. The live events will not be recorded.

It is possible to leave the live event at all times. The invitation links will be deactivated when the live event is over and will afterwards be accessible only for the administrators. Live event dates including chat messages will be deleted after one week.

There is a right, at all times, to free information, correction, deletion, or restriction of stored data as well as the right to object regarding data processing based on the premise of relevant rules relating to data protection.

In the events of queries, suggestions and complaints regarding data protection, please contact the data protection coordinator and the data protection officer at the University of Applied Sciences for Health Professions Upper Austria by email at: datenschutz@fhgooe.ac.at. In addition, and in accordance with Article 77 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) persons concerned have the right to file a complaint with the Austrian data protection authorities, Barichgasse 40-42, 1030 Wien, by email dsb@dsb.gv.at, at https://www.dsb.gv.at, if they consider that the processing of their personal data is not lawfully executed.
