Job description

Anaesthesia care comprises the observation, support, monitoring and care of patients, before, during and after the anaesthetic as well as in the assistance of administering the anaesthesia. The anaesthesia care personnel are involved in all the anaesthetic procedures and provide the patient with pre- and post-operative support.

How do you become an anesthesia nurse?

Anyone wishing to specialise in anesthesia care after completing a bachelor's degree or diploma in healthcare and nursing can start the higher education course (job eenabling) in anesthesia care at the University of Applied Sciences for Health Professions Upper Austria at the Med Campus V. Linz. The two-semester programme finishes with the title “Academic Expert in Anesthesia Care.” The programme focuses on special care in different areas of anesthesia, special medical basics, and related sciences (e.g., medicine, psychology, sociology). Internships enable an optimal transfer of theory into practice.
