The student - carries out the speech therapy process in accordance with § 2 Para. 6 of the MTD Act as part of the overall medical process, which includes the work steps of problem identification, planning, implementation, quality assurance, evaluation, documentation and reflection; - identifies the patient's health problem, recognise the information relevant to speech therapy and audiometry from the existing findings and, if necessary, consult with the responsible doctor or other responsible persons about missing relevant information; - recognizes the limits of independent professional practice and establish the reference to the relevant legal regulations; - recognise the responsibility of other healthcare professions and work together in a multi-professional team; - Draws up under supervision a speech therapy report based on the medical diagnosis, the speech therapy anamnesis interview and the results of the information gathering, guided by hypotheses using profession-specific examination procedures; - Assesses the patient's communicative abilities, disorders and disabilities by selecting suitable specific examination methods and carry out therapies in accordance with professional and scientific knowledge and experience - under supervision; - Draws up a therapy plan, define therapeutic goals and implement the therapy plan as part of the speech therapy process; - discusses the therapy plan with the patient or relatives, adapt it to individual needs and motivate and instruct them to cooperate; - can critically question the course of the intervention and adapt it to the patient; - documents the course of treatment, formulate a speech therapy report and analyse and evaluate the results; - carries out speech therapy processes in the context of health promotion and prevention and offer targeted development-promoting and health-preserving measures; - recognises life-threatening conditions and provide appropriate first aid; - has acquired social communication skills and self-competences, in particular communication skills, critical faculties, conflict skills, empathy, role distance, frustration tolerance, self-determination skills, self-reflection skills, creative and co-determination skills, teamwork skills and a professional self-image for practising the profession; - assesses their own abilities with regard to technical, organisational, coordinating and administrative professional requirements; - represents their own decisions responsibly to the outside world; - conducts information and educational discussions professionally and build a basis of trust with patients or their relatives; - takes cultural and religious needs, lifestyles and values into account;

Implementation of the speech therapy process - under supervision - (problem identification, planning, implementation of diagnostic and therapeutic interventions as well as documentation) in one or more of the compulsory areas of speech therapy and speech therapy methodology, phoniatrics and speech therapy methodology, audiology including audiometry and speech therapy methodology;
Analysing, reflecting on and evaluating the intervention measures taken;
Writing a speech therapy report and a speech therapy report - based on the skills and abilities acquired to date; -
discussing the therapy plan with the patient or their relatives, adapting it to individual needs and motivating and guiding the patient to cooperate;
linking theoretical knowledge with the work steps of the speech therapy-diagnostic-therapeutic process;
familiarising themselves with the work of the interdisciplinary team;
